
The Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation (FJBG) has opened applications for its 2025 program, an initiative that has enabled more than 500 Guatemalan students to access higher education at top private universities in the country.
This program, part of the social commitment of CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, provides comprehensive support to students with outstanding academic performance and limited financial resources.
The Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation University Scholarship Program
The Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation University Scholarship Program, the social impact branch of CMI, was created to promote education in Guatemala, offering talented young individuals the opportunity to pursue higher education.
Since its launch, the program has helped graduate over 270 professionals, many of whom now work in national and multinational companies, including CMI. Its impact extends beyond education, fostering both personal and professional growth among scholars and preparing them to contribute to the country’s development in the future.
Each year, thousands of students apply, but only those who meet the eligibility criteria and pass the selection process secure one of the 50 scholarships available.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected students receive full financial support, including:
- Full coverage of tuition fees for up to five years.
- Monthly stipend to cover living expenses and academic materials.
- Financial assistance for purchasing books and educational resources.
- Graduation fees covered upon completing the degree.
- English training as required by the assigned university.
- Academic and personal mentorship, with guidance from a specialized team focused on leadership and soft skills development.
This comprehensive approach ensures that scholars not only complete their university education but also develop essential tools for successfully integrating into the job market.
How to Apply for the 2025 University Scholarship Program?

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be in their senior year of high school in 2025.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 85 points or higher since their third year of secondary school
- Demonstrate limited financial resources (this will be verified during the selection process).
Application Process
- Online Registration: Complete the digital application form and submit it before March 14th, 2025.
- Academic and Socioeconomic Evaluation: Candidates will undergo knowledge tests and a socioeconomic assessment to determine eligibility.
- Final Selection: A specialized team will review applications to ensure that selected scholars meet all program criteria.
Once the selection process is complete, the chosen scholarship recipients will receive ongoing support throughout their university education.
